School Buses:

In order to bus all children as effieciently and as safely as possible the following procedures will be implemented by the Superintendent and the Transportation supervisor.  Necessity for changes will be recognized and dealt with accordingly by those concerned.

A. Children to be transported who live outside the village limits will be expected to walk reasonable distances to bus stops unless hazardous walking conditions dictate otherwise.  Distances will be measured from the point where the driveway meets the road to where the bus stops.  A reasonable distance is considered to be 1/2 of a mile for children nine years old and over unless the child has a special need.

B. Bus stops witin the village limits will be in compliance with the above distances.  the Transportation supervisor may instruct his drivers to stop more often if such stops do not cause the driver to deviate from his etablished route.  However, good judgement indicates that many stops for the purpose of picking up only a few pupils at each stop is not an efficient nor considered to be hazardous for walking.

C. Drivers will maintian as accurate a schedule as possible.
